Spring Bounty

When time to give birth, a buffalo cow will remove itself from the herd to find a quiet, private place for arrival of her new calf. It has been said that she will not return to the herd until all traces of the birthing blood has been removed from the calf. Even upon returning to the herd, each cow keeps her calf close to her side in its early days.
